Winter is the perfect time of the year to have your portraits taken … Living in Queensland we are fortunate to have warm wintery days and beautiful blue sky’s. I love photos in long  grass with gorgeous back lit hair.

We were lucky to have perfect weather and a gentle warm breeze for this raggedy grass. These photos were so much fun and the golden strands of shaggy grass really give these portraits a peaceful feeling.

Soft neutral colours, earthy tones, muted pastels or denim jeans and your favourite top … this is the time of year you can wear anything and not feel uncomfortable in the heat. Delicate lighting and a quiet private location without an audience and you’ll wonder why you haven’t had your portraits taken in winter before.

For those ladies out there who prefer to wear sleeves, choose a delicate sheer fabric and let the sunlight catch the soft colours.

It’s important to feel comfortable and relaxed to have your portraits taken … I have a few favourite locations with rural, grassy fields and meadowy soft grass.
