Looking for country maternity photos with a difference? There’s something special about country people, they are warm, friendly and hard working. And almost always lots of fun to spend time with. This beautiful Mum not only has a gorgeous smile she has a heart of gold. I’m so fortunate to have the pleasure of photographing her second newborn baby girl. However this is her 1st professional maternity photography session and I loved taking her photos.

Old fashioned manners from a country girl

Apologising for her boots not being perfectly clean made this lovely lady even more endearing. Having met Monica previously I knew they lived on a huge cattle property. I asked for her to bring along boots and hat for photos. I was so excited to create these charming elegant photos. To me it was showing another side of a country women. Women who works long hours and often 7 days a week. All women have an intimate soft side and being pregnant is the perfect time to explore this. I took these photos a year ago. Due to covid restrictions, I could have one person in the studio at the time. Monica was my total focus. I regret not being able to photograph her husband and daughter. In the end Monica had time to relax and be in the moment with her unborn baby.

Congratulations on being pregnant Monica and thank you for allowing me to capture these precious pregnancy photos. It’s rare for country women to take time out for themselves. They are always so busy putting everyone else first.

You can take the girl out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the girl

Traditionally we think of country maternity photos outdoors in long grass. This is my version of a beautiful country woman in studio. Soft lighting, pretty feminine lace teamed up with leather boots and an akubra hat! It’s so perfect and something a little different. I’m so fortunate to be a photographer and thrilled to show women how beautiful they are. Especially when they don’t always see themselves the same way as their loved ones do. Monica you are stunning and your two daughters are lucky to call you Mum. They will enjoy looking at these photos as young girls and again as they become Mother’s themselves.
